Getting started

How do I create my first ride?

Open Rovyo, tap "New ride", give it a name and destination, pick a start time, and invite riders via WhatsApp, iMessage, or any link-share. Each invitee opens the link and joins with a tap.

How do invitees join without installing?

They cannot ride without installing. Rovyo needs background location to share their position. However, a non-rider waiting at the destination can open the Shareable Link in any browser, no install required.

Why does Rovyo ask for "Allow always" location?

Group rides need to keep sharing your position while the phone is in your pocket. We only ask for the upgrade the first time you start or join a live ride, and the persistent broadcast indicator is always visible while it is active.

During a ride

Can I hide my position temporarily?

Yes. Toggle Ghost mode from the live map. Other members see "Hidden" instead of your position. Your ride continues to count for ETA purposes.

How do I send an SOS?

Long-press the red SOS button on the map. A charging ring fills the perimeter; release before it completes to cancel. On commit, your location is sent to all ride members and your emergency contact via WhatsApp or SMS.

I lost network. Will my pin disappear for the group?

Your pin stays at the last-known position with an "Updated N min ago" chip. Your own pings buffer locally and flush when you reconnect.

Pricing & payments

When does Rovyo Pass apply?

Only when a ride has 3 or more riders. 1–2 rider rides are free for any distance. Pass is paid once at ride creation by any one member, and the benefit applies to everyone in the ride.

What if our route goes longer than planned?

You will not be surprise-charged. The Pass tier is locked at ride creation based on the planned distance. Spillovers are on us.

How do refunds work?

Full refund if you cancel the ride before "Go Live". If a ride started but no one joined, request a refund and we will process it. Completed rides are not refundable.

Account & privacy

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Privacy → Delete account. We honour the deletion within 30 days. You will be removed from active rides and your historic ride entries anonymised.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Settings → Privacy → Download my data exports a JSON file with your profile, ride history, and chat messages.
